Engagement Ring Tray..with Quilling

In my previous post I mentioned about an order for an engagement ring tray. Since both the bride and groom had an hotel industry background, we thought of making a restaurant theme ring tray with miniature quilling. We bought a bamboo tray  and decorated it with ribbons, beads, pearls . 
           
                Also, quilled miniature stuff was stuck on tables made from cardboard.  My friend made fruits, pasta, ice-cream, french fries and little quilled roses. It was a fun experience.

3D Quilling-Miniature Plants

Hellooo....It's been long since I have posted on my blog. I was busy with some personal issues and was unwell. I kept myselves busy with crafts to ease stress and boost my confidence during this phase. Finally, everything's all well now ...
        I made some very simple miniature plants. One of them was a gift to my friend while the others for an order that we received.

Quilled Birds

I had mentioned about these quilled birds in my last post. I fell in love with these cuties when I saw the pictures and the video here. This you tube video made it a lot easier. I have not yet decided how I would put these to use.  I can make a mobile or may be.. frame it .  

        I was in such a hurry to try making one of these  that I literally used a torn grocery plastic bag  ,a small piece of thermocol sheet as the base and drew  the sketch as quickly as I could. Look at the last picture  ( very untidy). I was really excited when the first one was done and made 3 more. 

       My husband loved them too!

3 D Quilling in a glass

Hellooooooooo.....It's been long since I posted on my blog. I was busy with Diwali and a wedding of my cousin.

                Few weeks back my friend Gayatri had gone to Crosswords to buy some books where she came across a hawker selling clay and glass items. She bought few of these glasses (like shot glasses) and we had fun discussing ideas so that we could put them to some use. We thought of quilling on the outer surface since we keep trying on different bases. Finally, this is how I made miniatures and stuck them to a cardboard base. This definitely has multiple uses.

Quilled Dolls........

I am always excited while trying 3-D stuff. Your imagination is what helps making these cute little things. I made few dolls with different hair and used scraps of paper strips to embellish their dresses. Fixing those little bits of paper was a bit tiresome... but it was fun as well!

Gift Box with a little quilling

Our first order was appreciated by all at the engagement ceremony and guess what? We received our second order there but they wanted something different. So, this was what we made. We used quilling and different papers to create this. Hope you like it.

I wanted to quill a girl with a cute little bunny. This was half made few months back but I was somehow not able to complete it. Finally, made up my mind and gave it a final shot. Quilling those little carrots was fun.

I wanted to make a quilled watering can for long with flowers in it. Finally, made one. I 'm planning to make two more for my niece and her cousin. Hope you like the pictures.

Just came across this while browsing the internet and fell in love with it. Since I had enough white strips, I gave it a try.

Finally, I searched on the internet for an arts and craft material store and was happy to find one close to my residence. Saved the time that I spent cutting paper strips. This was what I made after buying new quilling material from the store. Hope you like it!!!

My next challenge was to try something difficult. 3-D quilling was something I decided to go for. I made the lady with a hat but my niece suggested I should quill something specially for her . Her choice was Noddy. It sounded difficult but with a reference picture I started off. Cutting strips was again tiresome but I loved my cute little Noddy , the lovely lady n the garden. I also tried making Doraemon on my nephews request and just loved it.
